I started out singing professionally since the year 2000, at various clubs, shows and five-star
hotel lounges. The longest contract I had playing in a lounge was six years in Pan Pacific Hotel.
I did dabble in songwriting back in 1999 and wrote a song for a Malaysian artist for EMI Records
called Alfira. I had decided to cut an album “ Salma” in 2004 with Jaybonmusic Production and
with the collaboration of Life Records in Singapore. One of the songs called “ Nafas Terakhir”
went to number one for almost two months in the Malay Charts at “Radio Ria”. The music video
for “ Irama Rindu” which was one of the songs in the album was aired on MTV Asia. After
contributing two songs for the album I was registered as a songwriter with COMPASS Singapore.
The album had massive good reviews. I had appeared in the Malay magazines like “ Manja”, “
Sensasi”, the Newpaper and Berita Harian.
The song “Irama Rindu” was nominated for the best song and the album was nominated for
best album in the Malay Awards Show called APM Anugerah Music Awards 2005. The award show
was to celebrate and acknowledge the best artists from Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia and
was televised on Suria channel. I had the privileged of performing amongst the artist from the
various countries and I was also nominated for best new artist.
I had been given the opportunity to act in dramas for Suria. The last drama that I had appeared
in was “ Jeritan Sepi”. I had also sang for the theme song in one of the Malay dramas called “
Seksa”.

Which celebrity would you like to meet? What would you ask him/her?
I would like to meet James Blunt. I would like to know what drives him to cut an album?
What do most people who don't know you, assume about you?
Most people that don't know me may assume that I am unapproachable when I don't smile
because I have a fierce look about me but actually I'm quite the opposite.
What will you never believe in? I do not believe in tooth fairies :p
What is something easier said than done? Textbook answers on how to balance work and
social life.
What profession would you not like to attempt?
I do not like to be a caretaker, too morbid and creepy.
What Mandarin/Hokkien/Dialect word are you fond of using?

Life is... full of puntuations that make a great story.
Hercules is... someone that does not leave the gym ever.
I am like the color... red and blue because of my calmingly vibrant personality.
I have often wondered why men... find it hard to ask for directions.
